7 Days Rongai Route Kilimanjaro Climb

Code: RONGAI-7D
7 DAYS 6 NIGHTS

Tour Overview

The Rongai Route offers a truly remote and serene ascent of Kilimanjaro from the northern side near the Kenyan border — the only trail approaching from this direction. This 7-day itinerary provides superior acclimatization with an extra day at Mawenzi Tarn for "climb high, sleep low," resulting in excellent summit success rates (often 85-95%) while immersing you in untouched wilderness with fewer crowds.

Starting in a drier, rain-shadow northern rainforest with chances to spot wildlife like Colobus monkeys, the route climbs gradually through moorland and alpine desert, circles close to the dramatic Mawenzi peak, joins the Marangu path for the final summit push, and descends via a different trail for a complete traverse experience.
